In 1989 the Willamette Henhouse Gang and the Northwest Bantam Club merged, marking the beginnings of the Pacific Northwest Poultry Association (PNPA). The purpose of the PNPA is to promote the interest of breeding and exhibition of purebred poultry and waterfowl. However, in recent years, we have expanded our membership to include an ever-growing population of urban poultry owners and backyard hobbyists. Whether you want to show your birds, learn more about your breed, figure out what breed you want, or simply get support in learning more about caring for your poultry, the PNPA is your group.
We have also been expanding our Youth Program to include two Showmanship Clinics per year as well as large awards at the PNPA sponsored youth shows, and Breeder members who sponsor youth.
The PNPA puts on two double-show events a year. Always the third full weekend in April and the third full weekend in October, both events include separate youth shows, vendors, speakers, a Sale Area, raffles, bird auctions, and breed club Meets. Both events are now held at the Event Center at the Clark County Fairgrounds near Vancouver, WA in Ridgefield.
